Gracie's eye was twitching. Never a good sign. Something was annoying her, and it wouldn't take much to anger her. She had music blasting in her ears from her MP3 player, but even then upbeat songs didn't make her feel any better. If anything, they annoyed her more, but she needed something to keep her busy. In front of her were three large books, all textbooks, and on each book was the assignment needed to be done on that subject. She was currently working on her Health homework, and she was tired of seeing pictures of growing babies or healthy little children. It reminded her too much of her sick sister. She closed the book, with the work in it, and sat back against the chair, switching the song on her MP3. It changed to "Cowgirls Don't Cry" and Gracie bit her lip, thinking of the day before when her sister had asked her to sing that same song on the phone. Gracie missed her so much.
Gracie wore a purple spaghetti strap shirt, with a low dipping neckline. The shirt had a built in bra, so she didn't have to worry about her bra showing. Under it was a pair of light jeans, and white sneakers, with her friends signatures and names from her hometown all over them. Her hair fell down her back to her waist, straightened by her cousin. Gracie sighed and closed her eyes, leaning her head back over the chair, her hair falling in a red waterfall.

The smell of books wafted gently through the air as she stepped into the library. Aimee always loved getting a good book every now and then to just help herself unwind. She never really went any longer than a week without reading a book, but lately she had been so backed up on her homework that she never really got the chance to drop by and grab a book. She never really got the chance to read during the day right now anyway. Though, she had really wanted to just sit and read and homework would just have to wait. After all, the weekend was coming up and she would be able to catch up on it then. Gosh I'm such a procrastinator.Aimee thought inwardly laughing at herself.
The great works of literature were laid out before her as she walked down the aisles of books. Aimee wished she had left her dorm room and come down her earlier today to be able to take more time to read the books she wanted to read so bad. She finally saw a book that looked interesting and so decided to take it. The title was A Walk To Remember and Aimee heard of the book, but had never really gotten around to reading it. As she read the back of the book Aimee walked up to the librarians desk and put the book on top of the counter. The lady scanned the book listlessly and handed it back to her mumbling a thank you. Aimee just smiled at the librarian and turned around to find an open table as so she could dig into her book.
After searching for a few minutes Aimee finally found a girl who was sitting alone at a table with at stack of books in front of her. She seemed in almost a trance and had an MP3 plugged into her ears. Aimee thought about not going over there for a minute, but decided to just go ahead and walk over there. What harm could it do? Aimee thought to herself as she walked calmy over to the girl. Aimee carefully pulled up her low cut v-neck blue t-shirt that had roxy in big white letters down the right side of her shirt. She wore dark washed skinny jeans with her favorite gray vans over her feet. This was a simple outfit and as Aimee approached the girl she took a deep breath a put on a smile. "Hey, um, do you mind if I sit here? There don't seem to be any other seats." She said kindly.

Gracie didn't hear anything first, lost in her own thoughts of her dying sister and the pain she was feeling and how selfish it was when so many others were hurting to. Gracie brought her head back up and noticed the girl, nearly shreiking, but covering her own mouth before she could make a sound. She pulled her earplugs out, the lyrics dying out as she pulled them away from her ears. "Sorry, did you say something?" She asked the girl, pushing her long hair out of her face and looking up. Should she introduce herself? What did this girl want again? Gracie wished she were more attentive.
Somewhere in the library, somebody dropped a book and cursed and Gracie snickered a little bit, covering her mouth. Her porcelain white skin was hit perfectly by the light coming in from one of the windows, and for a moment she looked like a little doll, sitting there so short and skinny and small, her hair so straight, her skin so white. But then she turned again and the idea that she could be a doll ended. With her usual infectious smile, she decided the girl couldnt be all that bad, if she was willing to approach Gracie. She waited for the girl to repeat whatever she had said.

Aimee stared at the girl as she seemed to snap out of a daze she had been in. The girl stared up at Aimee taking the headphones out of her ears. The girl then said sorry did you say something and Aimee smiled at her. She was probably listening to her music the entire time and Aimee had moments like these many times before. "I was just asking if I could sit down, there don't seem to be any tables here left." Aimee said smiling at her sweetly. The girl with straight red hair sat in her chair with a perplexed expression on her face. She's probably still surprised and confused by why I just came up to her and said something to her that she did't hear.[/b] Aimee thought laughing inside her head. She wasn't the most attentive person in the world and didn't blame the girl for spacing out here. It was a nice calm place and perfect for someone to think, but then she heard an audible thump resonate through the library.
Aimee turned to see a kid who stared down at a book that had dropped to the floor. Everyone in the library was staring at the poor kid, but then the kid cursed and Aimee giggled slightly. She looked back at the girl to see her covering her mouth with a porcelain hand and giggling too. She was a small girl and had long flowing straigh red hair that stood out on her pale skin, but Aimee thought it was a beautiful contrast. She then proceeded to smile a smile that spread across the girls face almost like it was a habit. Looking over at the table Aimee saw the huge stack of books sitting next to her. It was a massive pile and Aimee looked back at the girl to say "Wow, you studying for something too?" [/size]

"Of course you can sit here." Gracie told the girl with a slight nod of her head towards the empty chair across from Gracie's own seat. She pushed that long red hair back out of her white face, blinking her long eyelashes. She tugged on her shirt, pulling it so that the one inch of her flat stomach didn't show. She hated that. She looked at the girl, stuck her hand out and shook it. "My name is Grace Eleanor Heart, most call me Gracie, and I think before we become friends there's a few things you should know about me because I refuse to make friends under false pretenses. I am polysexual and non-religous." Gracie said in a firm, but friendly voice. There, the girl knew about who Gracie was. Gracie thought it was important that people know that right away and she refused to have people think she was someone else.
She leaned to the side and picked up her bag, pulling a bottle of apple juice out and taking a drink before screwing the lid back on and dropping it in her bag. "And yes, I am studying, though not very hard. I'm doing a little bit of homework and some light reading." She said, pointing to the heavy books which were light reading to her intelligent mind.

Aimee let out a relieved sigh as she sat her bag down on the table next to her binder and the book on top of that. Aimee than scooted the chair out from under the table and slowly sat down. It felt nice to sit down for just a minute after a long day. Then Aimee heard Gracie introduce herself as Grace Eleanor Heart and said there were a few thigns Aimee needed to know before they become friends. Aimee was a little shocked by how straightforward the girl was able to be, but liked that she was establishing who she was and what was needed to be known before Aimee got into something she might regret. Gracie then continued to say that she was polysexual and was non-religious. Aimee wasn't extremely shocked by the fact that she was non-religious, Aimee had people like that in her life back in Denver, but they were really just kids who didn't like the rules of the bible and didn't follow, and never stated that they were following another religion. The polysexual wasn't really an issue either, Aimee didn't have anything against them and she did have a few friends who were homosexual, but no polysexual.
"Well both are perfectly fine with me. And my name is Aimee Elizabeth Hathaway. A few things to now about me is that I do have a temper, but I love meeting new people and that I'm straight and I beleive in god, but haven't been to church in forever." Aimee said in the same blunt friendly tone Gracie had used. She hoped that she wouldn't take that the wrong way and then listened as she said that she was studying and doing some homework as well as light reading. The books were thick and heavy and seemed to be in a high level of literature. "Those are some pretty impressive books and if you consider that light reading than your pretty impressive yourself." Aimee said still staring at the books with an appraising look and then back up at Gracie. "I love reading and one of those books right there would probably take me around four to six hours if I really wanted to just kind of get what the book was about. I'm lover of reading, but am cursed with a mind that cannot read comprehend as fast as I would like too." She said smiling and propping her chin up on her right hand.

Gracie smiled in her infectious way, taking one earphone out of her lap and putting it in her left ear, turning the music down so she could listen to it and talk to Aimee at the same time. "Well, I figured you should just know who I am before you really knew me, because I can't stand losing friendships when people find out too late that I live a lifestyle that isn't exactly widely accepted. So I thought you should know ahead of time, so you didn't regret the friendship or anything." Gracie said, the smile still on her pink lips as she pulled her hair over one shoulder. "It's annoying really, to have to introduce myself like that, but better safe than sorry, right? And defending myself too."
She looked over at the books as Aimee indicated them. "Well, yeah, this is light reading to me. Shakespeare and Poe and all those other 'greats'," Here she made quotation signs, "Began to bore me when I was in grade...8. They were wonderfully worded, and had okay stories, but they were just so...simple, that it got boring. So I read more advanced works." She said, pointing to the works of great authors on controversial subjects.
(OOC: Yea, um, just pretend it's really advanced authors because I don't have the creativity to come up with fake names right now, but I will in my next post.)
