One of the things that Mabel struggles with the most is part of her sub-skill. From her power Mabel has come to understand animals, but some better than others. Mabel has her strongest connection with mammals, however Mabel cannot understand insects or fish at all, and only some birds. When she tries to push that it usually results in her having bad headaches, or sometimes her power not being as strong (but that is rare). Mabel could probably command animals if she really wanted to, but she doesn’t like that idea so she doesn’t use the power often. Her sub-skill just seems to give her a very strong connection with animals.
power history;;Mabel has felt close to nature her whole life, and has always felt more connected to trees and animals more than people. Mabel has had her power as long as she can remember, as soon as she understood what was going on. She had never really understood it till she was older. She always wanted to be around plants; Mabel spent a lot of her young years in her family’s greenhouse. Her parents had noticed how she liked the flowers and plants and for her fifth birthday she got a beautiful plant. Being five Mabel never remembered to water it but somehow the plant never died, that was her first experience with her powers.
When Mabel was around 10 years old her family got a cat. This was the first animal that she had ever really seen up close, besides ants, birds, and a few fish. The cat was all white and she had named her Angel. Mabel spent hours upon hours with the cat, she soon began to understand Angel’s body language and found out that sometimes she could actually talk to Angel. This scared Mabel enough that she felt she needed to tell her parents about it. When she did she found out that her mother also had a power, her mother was what was called an Aquakinetic, someone who could manipulate water, and her mother could even breathe underwater. Mabel wasn’t too surprised when she found out, they had a house by the water, and her mother was a diver. Her parents encouraged her to see what she could do with her power.
In June of 2004 her parents got Mabel her first dog, that was all her own. She had named her Aaleahya which was Indian for light because her coat was a golden apricot color, but she called her Leah for short. Mabel’s sub-skill really grew a lot when she had Leah, she went from only being able to understand animals on occasion to being able to understand everything about them. Mabel started taking dog classes with Leah and soon got hooked on dog training. Mabel doesn’t really command Leah to do the things in the class she just tried to influence Leah, Mabel doesn’t like the idea of commanding her. She became one of the best in the class, and the classes also strengthen her relationship with Leah. Mabel now only is away from Leah if she has to be.

She would never do anything to alter her appearance because it wouldn’t be natural, she doesn’t wear make-up or even nail polish. She has just never felt like she needed anything, outrageous that would change her appearance.
Her hair has pretty curls, and it falls just past her shoulders. Mabel usually has her hair longer, but her mother insisted that she got it cut. Her hair could be described as the color of beach sand, it light but not really bright, her hair almost appears a little dull. Mabel’s hair is usually in pigtails, or if it is longer it’s down. Mabel always has loved pigtails even though they are a little young; she likes them because she doesn’t want to seem old being taller than most other teenage girls.
Mabel’s style is defiantly what you would call unique. She has never followed the current styles and trends sticking to other things. Mabel likes both bright and dull colors, and she tries to think of something in nature that reflects all of the cloths she has. She does not have a very large wardrobe wanting things to be simple. Mabel has made some of her favorite clothes herself out of fabrics from around where she lived. She tends to stick to plain pants, bright shirts, and simple shoes.
She is a pretty girl, and many people have even suggested to her certain clothes companies she should try wearing that might do this or that for her, but she has never worn any of them. Mabel has never thought of herself as really pretty, even though she has a lot of things going for her.Down to earth, Understanding, Caring

Mabel’s power runs true in and she is one of those people who are calm, cool, and collected. Mabel takes logic into a lot of the things she does, she wants to make sure that she knows everything she can before she will make a decision. Mabel takes everyone’s sides of the story, she will listen to you, and tries to make a decision she knows is right. Mabel is good at school, and likes being smart, she is an A student, and proud of it. Mabel will put school work before most other things, expect maybe Leah.
Mabel is very down to earth, which probably has to do a little with her power. She thinks it’s silly that people are so materialistic, and needy. She knows that a lot of people are greedy, but she tries to not be that way. Mabel still doesn’t quite grasp some of the other breed’s ability because they seem so impractical and weird to her, like teleports, she doesn’t really understand it.
Mabel is a small town girl, she has never been to a big city, and is very innocent. She doesn’t know much about the big world around her, and still thinks that there is good in everyone no matter what. It might be easier for someone to take advantage of her because of this. This innocence also makes her sweet, but a little naïve. Mabel has never had any alcohol, or had any available to her because her parents never drank. She is almost still like a little girl, how has never seen beyond her backyard.
Mabel is one of those girls would help a little old lady across the street, just because. She does tons of volunteer work, mostly at the animal shelter, helping out with the animals. No one who has met her could probably say one bad thing about her, she doesn’t really try to, but she seems to bring a happy aura with her were ever she goes. She is will to help out anyone who needs it, unless in school it would be cheating. Mabel doesn’t like to break rules, she feels like rules were made for a reason and that they should be followed. She has been seen as a goody two shoes and a teacher’s pet because of that.

Mabel was born on a sunny spring day at the end of May in Yachats Oregon to Angela and Ray Mayer. Angela Mayer was an Aquakinetic, but Ray was just a regular person. Most of Mabel’s early childhood was spent with her mother, in their greenhouse. Her mother ran a local flower shop, and her father was a fisherman. The Mayers lived a simple life, they had just enough money, to afford their little beach cottage, and taking care of their daughter.
Mable was homeschooled, her mother thought that it would be one of the better ways for her to grow up, but they also couldn’t afford the private school that was in the area and the only other school was an hour away and they didn’t want their daughter far away from home. Mabel was homeschooled, and as much as she loved it, her mother found that she needed to have a fulltime job, and that Mabel needed to be getting taught by real teachers, so in fifth grade she went to the private school. Her parents had just enough money to get her there. Her parents seemed worried bringer her to a real school also because they had just found out that she was a Naturalist.
As she grew up she knew that she wasn’t quite like everyone else, she was usually alone, and her parents often seemed worried about her. With help from her parents and teacher she eventually tried talking to other kids, she only made a few friends, but learned everyone’s name, she lived in a small town. It seemed to her like all of the kids knew that she was different, and that she would rather be with a shrub, so most people ignored her, but Mabel didn’t mind. Mabel had been alone most of her life, she hadn’t thought her new school would be much of a difference. One thing that Mabel did notice was that whenever she tried to be with her older sister she seemed to reject her. Isabella or Issie as most of her friends called her was almost the opposite of Mabel, so was social and had a lot of friends, and didn’t really care about anyone else but herself.
When she got Leah, her whole world seemed to change. She spent mostly all of her time when she wasn’t in school with her. Leah opened up new doors for Mabel; she had never really had a real friend before, even if Leah was a dog. From having Leah Mabel felt more confident and really did start trying to talk a little bit more, but she never made any real friends. As Mabel went through school her parents were always looking for someplace else she could go, and that’s how they found Sententia. As soon as Mabel finished eighth grade she went down to Sententia.
At Sententia Mabel felt almost like she could have started over, but she had trouble. The school was totally different from her school in Yachats. Mabel had never felt really special before, like she was someone chosen to have a great gift, but it was different being around people who all could do different things. Mabel found a dog training class in St. Louis and continues with her training with Leah.
