So, this is what it felt like. This is what it was like to be that new kid, transferring to a new school, in the middle of the year too? Well, this isn't exactly what the 'new' kid had in mind. He wasn't expecting a bash or anything. For people to say "Hey, a new kid, lets greet him with open arms". And frankly, he may just tell em to take it somewhere else. Joshua, that was his name, was in no mood to take them seriously, to be all cheerful and play along. These days, there just wasn't anything to be cheerful about. Well, there was one thing to be happy about. He could start over, he could get away from those people that looked down at him because of who his father was, especially those damn police. Sure, he'd miss The Bronx, but there were more things in life than a run down city run by drug dealers and attics.
But, what he wasn't expecting was what was to come. He truthfully thought that there would at least be some OTHER black kids at the school. Well he was in for a rude awakening. Pulling up in his 2019 mustang. The jet black car rode up to the side of the school, today the young man heading to his first class made his way to the school in the most subtle, and mature fashions. He had his music pretty loud, but not to the point where it was getting out of the car. This wasn't exactly hard with what he was able to do. He simply amplified. the noise coming from the song, so that only he could hear it. This way he wasn't gonna get pulled over for some stupid reason. Stepping out of the car, he removed his sunglasses, they were all silver, the cool feeling they gave to the skin was an amazing feeling.
He took a few glances around, arching his eyebrow he squinted and took another look around. Seriously? There wasn't another kid like him? Another black kid....no, maybe he was overreacting. He was only outside, and it wasn't exactly the warmest. Surely there were some others like him inside. Putting his glasses back on, he shut the door to his car and locked the doors with the beeper. So was the beginning of his day, and from this point on, he was 'The New Guy".

Something changing The secret is building Almost over and somehow seems a beginning Losing focus It must be boring Looking forward never turns out the wrong way Conversations alone Complicate us together on our own
_________________________ Sparky was alone, for once, her bodyguard had been called back to Sicily for some strange reason that she had no idea about. Her Dad told her everything but it seems she was being kept out in the cold…literally… on this one. She pulled down the hood of her white sweater shirt, the silver lettering on the back that said “Sparky” stood out neatly on the back of the white fabric, she had a black shirt just like it but for today she was in a light mood. Her white fur boots that hugged her ankles and kept her feet warm and toasty crushed the snow under toe in to even more mush, it wasn’t pretty anymore, it was dirty with the amount of cars that had traveled through it from the dorms to the main building.
She’d opted to walk today instead of drive, illegal she might be but then again nothing was legal about this hell hole. Finally she stepped up the first step to see a few girls rushing towards her looking excited. She tilted her head, sending blonde waves around her beautiful face and lifting an equally blonde eyebrow an inquisitive smirk on her full pale pink lips.
”What’s the word girls?”
She listened intently as they pointed out a sexy black mustang before equally becoming excited and pointing towards the fountain. Apparently there was a late transfer and not only was he colored but he as hot as well. Marissa was intrigued, she stepped down the stairs her boots crushing ice as well as snow, her mini skirt flared over white tights that slipped in to her boots and hugged her legs like a second skin. She pushed past the girls and walked back out across the courtyard towards the fountain. She quietly sat on the fountain crossing one leg over the other and clasping her hands over her knee in her usual ‘I’m the boss’ posture. It was very ‘God Father’s daughterish’ and it usually made her laugh, but for now she was all business, her lightening blue eyes staring up at this boy until he took notice of her. ”Welcome to Sententia, you must be Joshua Brown, I’m Marissa Peretti is nice to meet you.”She held out her hand and smiled a warm smile that didn’t match the ice cold weather at all. Marissa was usually the welcome wagon, after all she heard the news before anyone else really, she was always in the know and she would be the first to befriend the sexy new guy. It was a little vain of her but she’d heard the whispers about a late transfer and she was more than just curious to find out his situation. [/blockquote][/blockquote]

Hilary’s heels clicked as always, as she made her way from her last class, being none other then Dance. She had gone out of her way to talk the class, which was way out of Hilary’s norm, since her D- average wasn’t exactly yelling out to the world ‘look at me! I like to take extra classes!’
As Hilary entered the courtyard she realized there was a guy in the seat she always sat in. She couldn’t help but to be furious as she walked over. EVERYONE knew better then to mess with Hilary Laurent, rich, spoiled daughter of a famous French politician. The most pretty, most gossipy, most bitchy girl in the whole school!
As she rolled her eyes she realized the guy was new, however he was standing next to Sparky, who should of known better. Sparky was a grade lower then her and Hilary didn’t really bother with her since she wasn’t exactly in her league, and since they had never crossed paths before. Hilary was told that she was mostly a gossip, probably another fake bitch, or so Hilary thought. She was always judging people before she got to know them though. This was just like her. However the two had caught Hilary in a rather good mood.
She sat down right next to the new guy, there was no way he was going to say anything to her. She had gone casual today, with her fur boots, blue French ordered tee shirt, and another pair of brand new French marked jeans. Her hair was naturally curly as such she left it, and overall she was looking pretty good.
“I’m Hilary Laurent.” she said to the guy, barely smiling. Her French accent was showing. Everyone had to know who she was, so she was none the less doing him a favor. She gave a less then usual fake smile to Sparky. She didn’t know her but wouldn’t mind getting to. “Hey.” she said rather simply waiting for one or the other to reply. She hoped she wasn’t raining on Marissa’s parade...oh wait, she didn’t actually care, either way she wondered about Sparky. After all why make enemies for no reason.

Joshua walked into the gates. His eyes continued to look from side to side, just making sure he wasn't mistaken about being the only other black kid at the school. This was insane, what was he going to do? What if none of them liked sports? What if they didn't like R&B, well, he was sure the girls would love his voice. Even without his audiokinesis he had an all natural voice. He sighed softly, and continued to walk over toward the center of the courtyard. What he didn't expect was what was coming. Sitting down on one of the benches just around the center of the school, Joshua closed his eyes and rubbed his head. This was going to be a long, stressful first day in the school. That was, until he heard a voice.
Looking over his shoulder, he noticed a woman coming up to him. See, he wasn't the kind of kind to judge someone by the way they dressed, or the way they talked. But rather, by the way they stood, the way they presented themselves, and whether or not they were good at hiding their fake truths, their lies, and those fake smiles. This girl, Marissa as she elegantly put it, didn't seem to be fake. But then again, who knew, maybe she was just that good. Sighing softly, he nodded. He didn't speak, just nodded and shook her hand in return. There was truly no need for him to talk to her, she already knew his name. And he couldn't say if it was a nice meeting now or not. Taking in a deep breath of fresh, cold air, he heard another.
This next woman that came up, she seemed a bit different than the first girl. While, she obviously had more confidence, or perhaps a more of that conceitedness a lot of rich girls had, she also seemed the one to be fake. Befriend someone, and then back stab them. Then again, who knew, maybe she wasn't that bad of a person, either way. It was getting just a bit to crowded for his taste. Standing, the young air manipulator walked in front of the two, and this time, he did speak.
"If you didn't hear her, as she seemed to know, my name is Josh. As much as I'd just love to sit and chat, I gotta get in to this damn school and get my classes." You could just hear the distaste, and the sarcasm in his voice. He just wasn't that much of a talkative person anymore. But he also wasn't the one to spill his life story just to get some attention. And frankly, people like that irritate the living hell out of the young man.

Bent and broken is all I've been No universal truth this time No other universe but mine Could ever feel as unaligned
_________________________ Sparky grinned, she liked this guy, he had a certain flair with his attitude that would make him big news like Steven had been a few months ago. Uncrossing her legs she got up, totally ignoring Hilary’s presence, after all, Sparky was an Elite she was above and beyond the hookers level. It made her sad that there were fake bitches walking around the school trying to be like her, she would have figured that they’d be in her grade at least, kids, but the sad truth was even juniors and seniors were enthralled with the mob princess. She would always be richer, better looking and more liked than the pretty politician princess sitting on the bench, not to mention Italy was so much cooler than France anyway.
“It was nice talking to you while it lasted then Joshua, maybe I’ll see you around. I’m in Senior music so who knows.”
Sparky put on a small smile, it was real she had already taken interest in the man. Word spread fast after all it was no surprised that she knew so much about them, and not only was she always in the know she knew more facts and truths than the so called Queen of Gossip preening on the bench like a fucking peacock that no one was interested in. Sparky sighed and gave her the smallest acknowledgement. A condescending flick of her wrist in the woman’s direction; which incidentally lifted her jacket somewhat flashing her 9mm Glock that she technically wasn’t supposed to be toting around campus, but her bodyguard wasn’t here and her father had cautioned her so the Glock was on her person.
She allowed her jacket to fall back over the gun, she had a permit for it even though technically it was under Cassie Sparks who was old enough to own a gun and she wasn’t. Thank you big brother once again. She caught the expressions of the too and almost groaned, she hadn’t meant to flash the gun but it wasn’t like it was a secret that she had one, she’d cut Joshua some slack but Hilary ‘should have known better’. She flashed the nuisance girl one last agitated ‘You weren’t invited to this party’ look before touching Joshua’s arm casually.
“Did you need help finding the office or your classes? I don’t mind showing you around or anything.”
She stared at him seriously, it wasn’t really flirting if she was he’d know, she was offering to show him around seriously because it was her nature to be helpful. She gave him another one of her smiles and glanced towards the huge double doors leading in to the school and the clock above them, they weren’t too late just five minutes and she didn’t care.
”If not we could meet up later if you like, it’s always good to have at least one friend to help you out in a new place right?”

Hilary rolled her eyes..."Like I would know some random kid's name..." she stopped there being way less rude then she normally was. This kid wouldn't make it at the school...it was obvious to Hilary right away.
She had never really had to deal with being the new girl. Her and her sister Renee had been accepted into the group right away. Maybe Marissa didn't have the same luxery and thats why she was being so nice to the new guy.
Hilary couldn't help but smerk at the whorified girl's attempt to flirt with some random guy. It was so obvious that she was desperate, and Hilary could see why. With hair and looks like that who could get a date? The little girl’s dizzying attempt to make Josh like her was pointless. No one wanted a whore after all. There was a big difference from being yourself and putting on a fake front like Marissa was. The best part was everyone could see right through it.
No one really understood Hilary. She was herself. She was raised like she was the best...because she was. She had been spoiled rotten, and this made Hilary even more elaborate with her attitude. obviously Marissa couldn’t get what she wanted, then again Hilary wondered about herself. She decided now would be a great time to use her powers. See what the two were really thinking. Josh was easy to connect into., she didn’t know what it was about him, but it seemed like he didn’t want to be there.
He thinks I’m fake. Hilary shrugged and smiled into her cell phone checking her completion for the millionth time today. Everyone always thought that about her, it was nothing new. She learned not to care because normally the people who thought she was fake, were fake themselves.
Hilary gave Marissa the dirtiest look she could. She then stood up “Look you ugly little bitch, a gun doesn’t scare me. Okay! Ah and I don’t think he is interested in you. So take your gun and shove it up your ass. Wee.” she said as now the whole courtyard was looking at her. What a stupid bitch. Like she was going to do anything. this girl was the trashiest fakest girl in the courtyard and now she was threatening Hilary with a gun. Yeah right.
Now Hilary lost control of her powers. Everyone’s thoughts poured into her head at once. Can you believe she just said that...Sparky is a whore anyway...a gun? really?....I want to see this fight....this is just like Hilary...wow over the new guy?” Hilary did everything she could from putting her hands over her ears and screaming. She wanted to take a gun and shoot the bitch in the face right about now. How could someone be THAT desperate?
At this point the whole courtyard was frozen. She wondered what josh and Marissa were thinking, but didn’t want to give herself more of a headache then she would already have after all of this.

What were these two girls arguing about? It all really seemed pointless to Josh, one was a spoiled princess, and one was the daughter of a mob boss. Were they truly that different? They were both rich, they were both powerful in their own respects, and frankly, they were both acting like a bunch of middle schoolers. This wasn't the seventh grade anymore, and their petty little argument was getting on the young mans nerves. It was mediocre, and for whatever reason they just had to argue, and battle each other for dominance in the courtyard. While he was there for that matter.
Groaning, he continued his walk forward, he had no reason to stay behind. They could truly shoot each other all they wanted. Use their powers to make the other have a spaz attack, or even kill each other with a stare off. None of it concerned Josh, and none of it really made him care. That was of course, until he heard that one word. this word had it's own meaning, in a sense that it portrayed, and encouraged violence. He said that killing was not an issue, but whoever pulled that trigger first would be the last man standing.
This word, this weapon was known as a gun. This gun was used to slay others where they stood, to watch their own brethren fall because of something so stupid, that it could be solved with a simple discussion. Despite this, people had to use guns. Like it was more protection than ones own faith. Joshua had faith, and he had powers. Much like everyone else at this fucking school, and they still had guns? They could take over if they all banned together, and they still had fucking guns?
Turning his body, Joshua pulled off his sunglasses, light, deep brown eyes stared at both of the girls. And in that instant, around the girl known Marissa the wind started to churn. It whipped around, and within that moment. The glock that seemed to be safely tucked into her pants flew out and up into the sky. Flowing through a funnel of wind, it landed on top of the building. Josh always had a distaste for guns. Since his sophomore year, he hated them and wished with the deepest of his heart that they would just vanish.
The reason? It was a gun, it was that weapon that took his father. The life of the man that raised him from a baby, to a child, to the man he was. Showed him the ropes, taught him how to fight with his hands, and not his powers. The man that truly meant something to him, and maybe that was the reason Josh was so closed off, so angry with the world. To never lose another person he cared so much for. Who would want to experience that again? No one, and closing himself off was a sure fire way to keep that feeling from ever returning.
Putting his glasses back on, Joshua sighed, rubbed his head. After looking up, he spoke, and this time with more fierceness than before. "Look here, Hilary. You are no better than her. She is no better than you. Frankly, right now, you're both acting like insecure, little children. You really think, in a school full of people like you, her and myself, she'd use a gun on someone like you?! He groaned, turning his body, he aggregatively mumbled to himself before calming and speaking again. "Seriously, for the sake of everyone around here. Both of you should grow the fuck up..." And with that last statement, Joshua started to walk off, his hand still twitching from the anger that he just recently, and shortly had to endure. Speaking to himself, he spoke that phrase that seemed to calm him down. Air is Solace....

The gun, the thing of the guy's fears and nightmares, hung in the air. The gust of wind was strong, but his mastery of air and all of its intricacies were superior. He wasn't about to fight with him over it, but it was certainly not his decision to take away someone's property - even if it was a gun. Marissa was just going to be more pissed off if she didn't get it back, and thus, he was going to fix the problem. His motions were easy - he didn't lift a hand, didn't do anything more than continue to walk towards the screaming girl, Marissa, and Josh.
"Alright guys, this is a courtyard, not the gym. If you're going to fight, take it to a mat - if you're going to scream, take it to one of the music rooms. At least then it can be drowned out." The gun's course was altered - even if he wasn't as powerful as the other aerokinetic, his skill allowed him to channel the air to do his bidding, and caused the gun to slip to his own grasp, rather than falling on the roof. He and Marissa got along well enough - they were both predators, even if he never let that side of him show to the rest of the world.
He tossed the gun back to her, after making certain the safety was still on. Wild winds could do a lot of damage, especially considering the fact that the guy was using funnels rather than coasting it. Nevertheless, his eyes turned to the girl who'd been throwing a tantrum. Words and whispers of other people were silenced completely - and literally - in field around the four, even.
"You're Joshua, right? Your student orientation's on me, and since you were a bit late, I thought I'd come and find you. Sorry if things are a bit crazy here, but what can I say? A school full of 'special' kids can't be normal, right?" A hint of bitterness in his voice. Nevertheless - his thoughts were simple and secure, even if Hillary went rooting around in his mind, she'd find nothing more on the surface than quiet.
It was like he wasn't even there - not a null, but simply a calming presence that was hopefully diffusing the potentially nasty situation. Both Marissa and Hillary had tempers that he was currently hoping to bring down to reasonable levels - they didn't need to be scaring off the new guy.
After a few more seconds of silence he added: "Oh! Here you go. I've got your class schedule, and the post-entrance paperwork you'll have to fill out. I can help you out if you have any questions, but it's a pretty simple bit of paperwork. Dr. Reid's pretty thorough when he finds students for Sententia, so he gets most of it out of the way before you even get here. I'm supposed to show you where your classes are, and the dorm where you'll be staying."
He offered him a small 'beginners package', with a map of the grounds, his school, his dorm room number, his dorm-mate, if he had one, a key, and an ID card with his student number, too.
Glancing to Marissa, his gaze said simply 'calm down - no need to hurt the girl'. Unfortunately for Hillary, who was so desperately trying to get into the ranks of the 'elite', for all they were worth, Marissa was a real fighter. He'd prefer not to have to clean up the mess that came about if Marissa felt the need to flip out for real.
He gave Hillary much the same look, trying hard to get through to her that perhaps this was not the best idea in the world.
Turning his attention back to Josh, he asked: "You up for the tour, or do you want to hit the dorms first?" He offered, trying to smile easily.

_________________________
Sparky was staring at the girl with her classic ‘what the fuck calm down slut’ look. It was a cold look that she only used when she felt truly annoyed. Electricity was crackling around her finger tips and bouncing off the edge of her permanently spiked hair. Her blue eye twitched and if it wasn’t for Connor stepping in when she did she might have splattered little Miss Barbie reject all over the fucking pavement. Her blue eyes dragged away from the dumb blonde to stare at Connor and she visibly calmed, the electricity flickering out.
With a grin she whipped her hand up and caught the gun, spinning it around her finger before holstering it where it had been before Joshua had gotten too it. She gave a small curtsey in acknowledgement of her senior and a fellow elite before glancing over her shoulder and shaking her head. She hadn’t risen to bait like she would have thought she would, and that was mostly because with the new kid ragging on her like he fucking knew her she was about to blast them both in to next week, and she had the power to do it.
Finally with a snippy little sigh she walked over to Connor and faced the direction his back was in. She was giving her back to little miss dumb bitch and Mr. Know-it-all so that she could have time to collect herself before she did something stupid. He’d called her a child and that hadn’t boded well with Marissa’s soul; after all she was far from a child. She’d probably seen worse things in her life than he’d ever seen, and now he was here in this fancy school bitching about her personality when all she was trying to do was help him out? She hadn’t even fought back and suddenly she was connected to the fake bitch? There was no Queen Bee battle because there was no one else in this school truly like Marissa and there never would be.
She was the original bad ass gossip bitch of the school and there were a lot of posers and a lot of fakers but they were all hated and Marissa was loved just like all of the other Elites. She glanced at Connor and quietly thanked him with a dignified almost royal look. There was a certain cohesive violence around the two that said ‘we’ve seen things that would drive a normal person crazy and survived, suck it the fuck up and move a long newbies.’ It made her smile a little as she glanced at Joshua and gave it once last chance. She smiled faintly.
”Mind if I tag along? I could help him show you around as a way of apologizing for my previous behavior. I wouldn’t want to embarrass the Peretti name by not offering to clear up this mess; it would be bad for my honor.”
This time she honestly didn’t give a fuck about prissy dunce over there screaming her head off like a banshee and trying to read her mind which was only penetrable by Reid and Axel. She had to chuckle, if anyone thought that she was a whore it’d just be too funny, because those people wouldn’t have heard shit from anyone she’d actually slept with and were most likely just haters. Well, there wasn't much else that the young man could say or do. It seemed however, the one that cause all the grief in the first place was gone after he little moment. Finally, some peace and quite. With that noise rid from his ears, he looked back up to the two. The man seemed to be stable enough, and really, so was the girl. It was just the nonsense and the yelling that drove Joshua mad. Well, in any case, there wasn't much to really yell and scream about now. So, after taking the package Joshua turned, and looked at Marissa, then back to the man in front of him.
Opening the package, he looked at all of the contents. Sighting contently, he spoke softly nodding to what the man had to say. "Yeah, I think a tour is in order. The dorm can be last so I have time to rearrange everything." So, this was going to be a different experience than what the young man was used to in the past few years. With the fact that he hasn't been the most social person within a few years, he could tell, without a doubt. He was going to go through hell starting at this school, and being as social as possible. Well, that may just be what he needed. As a matter of fact, this man really didn't have anything to do now. Sit in his dorm, get fat, lose his body? Yeah, get real. Being around other people may help with that shell he's built. And, why not start with the person the offered first.
"That's fine, you didn't dishonor your name. I dishonored myself for the way I acted. Just don't show that around me again, okay?" Sighing softly, Joshua started to walk toward the front of the school. This was good, he was maturing already. Let's just see how long it could last for.
