It is easy to tell when Keri has reached her limits. If she is in the process of creating something and at any point begins to strain due to over-exertion of her energy, her plants or whatever vegetation instantly dies. The tool her body takes is that her body is drained of a great deal of energy she possesses at the time. Thus, if she is in a weakened state, one even such as this could lead to a vegetative coma as ironic as it seems and, though rare, there is the possibility of a quick, painless death.

March 12th, 2005
Five year old Keri Allen spent every weekend that summer helping her mother in the garden. Ever since she was little she loved running about her mother's plants, playing with the pretty flowers and, like her mother, she has become attached to them, finding every possible moment to nurture them as well as to increase their numbers and the beauty of them in their entirety. That day her mother was out grocery shopping, leaving her to do the outside gardening, a chore she was all to happy to do. After spreading the manure, her last task was to plant some seeds for two Hibiscus species, the Hibiscus hastatus and Hibiscus rosa-sinensis, both very beautiful. She planted the seeds and as she patted the earth flat with her bare flesh, she startled when something green started to coil out of the ground. After recoiling a few feet away, she watched in awe as the four bushes grew, even more beautiful and more grown than the other Hibiscus plants. Her lie to her mother that evening was that some guy dropped them off as a gift. No details.

Just a year from being a teenage, twelve year old was spending her summer with her dad in the Caribbean. This was only because her mother had her new job as a botanist and was off looking for new plant species. Her days on the beach were amazing but one could only take so much sun even with three bottles of SPF on her formerly pale skin...figuratively speaking. That day she was lounging on a chair she brought down to the beach from the hotel and the beating sun finally made her get up, reluctantly and head for the sweet shade of the hotel as lame as that was going to be. With every step she was wishing that there were more trees down this side of the island and just as she entered the shade cast by the hotel there was an awkward earth tremor that sent her scampering for safety. The minute she absently looked back she came to a halt. In her tracks, from where she was lunging on the sand, right up to where the sand ended and the concrete began was a line of palm trees at least eight feet tall. Her jaw dropped, as did everything else in her hand.

Now fifteen years old, on this very day at lunch break, Keri and her friends were spending the hour lounging on a bench by one of the trees in the school court. Keri herself was lying on the cut, green grass, looking up at the brown to gold to red leaves on the tree, picturing those movies where the leaves would spontaneously fall and to her hearts surprise and delight, the leaves on the tree above her and her friends started to fall, all drifting around them till they coated the earth with a layer of dead but beautifully colour leaves; and what was even more bizarre is that the same thing happened to two other trees, and to take a dip into the chronicles of puzzling, the trees grew back their leaves which turned from green to brown within one to two minutes, leaves which then fell. This process happened thirty times...she counted each from her classroom window fifteen minutes after class started.

One year later, Keri was spending the holidays in the States with her whole family and it was snowing. Sure it showed in England but here in the states, a place she ventured to for the first time and given the very beautiful wide open home her aunt and uncle and cousins lived in, the slow on the ground, on the trees...everything was just so much more beautiful for some odd reason. Dressed tightly, she and her cousin Rebecca went on a walk into the small wood across the road from their home. Their walk was fun, but like all walks, there came a moment of silence, that's when she decided to listen to her iPod, the first set of songs being from Maroon 5, who better on a snow day. Figuring Rebecca was right behind her...or beside her, she walked and walked until she turned around...and there was no Rebecca there...or anywhere near there for that matter. Thirty minutes of frantic running got her even more lost. Her nerves were shot, she was as jumpy as ever and her slow 'so-called' walking was getting her no where. Then from no where, a hand hit her shoulder, she screamed at the top of her lungs, a pain shot into her mind causing her to gasp...then she fainted, eyes rolled back into her head and all of that. Luckily, she regained consciousness thanks to whomever it was that startled her in the first place. She was prepared to give whoever it was, it turning out to be Rebecca and her sister, a good cussing but she was silence when she noticed how...dead the trees were. They were all shrivelled and their leave were gone with branches falling randomly here and here and that kind of noise, with what just happened, while in a dark forest didn't make much of an atmosphere for walking so the three ran, giving a detailed account of what happened, though no one believed them till they say it the next day.

This day was the turning point, the day of realization. There comes a point when everyone relives the most striking moments of their life in their mind. Some frown, some laugh, some cry but Keri, her face was creased from thinking. She recounted those events with amazing clarity as well as other things that happened between those periods and as curious as she was about their occurrence, they were so odd that she tossed them aside. Later at home she saw some seeds her mother left on the counter. Judging by shape and such they were tomato seeds and those same thought that came back to her earlier that day all came flooding back, especially that first experience when she was just five years old. She ditched her stuff, when out into the breeze back yard, dug a small whole with her thin fingers then she dropped two seeds in, patting the earth down with her hand like when she was five. Nothing happened. She got to her feet, hands to her hips, looking down at that spot...still nothing happened. Then it dawned on her...each time she was wishing for something...almost magical in the sense. She wished for the Hibiscus to grow beautifully and healthy, she wished for palm tree shade on that beach, she wished for the brown leaves to shower her and so forth. She looked away, sceptical at that she was thinking, more so at what she was trying to do, then she threw caution to the wind and wished. Nothing happened, at first...then the lose earth started to mound then fall to the sides as seedlings grew, turning into plants which seemed to over-run half the yard. Two things went into her, awe at what she did and shock at what she did.
Her ability works, simply, with desire and it works just with vegetation as she later realized to her personal embarrassment. If she wishes for something to grow then it will grow. If she wants a plant to produce fruit it will, producing more appealing fruit and in more abundance as she gets older and gets more practice at what she's doing. There is more to it, but like nature, her gift is a mystery. All she knows is what she is capable of doing, her limits and the on and off switch.

Keri has a slender body, not insanely model thin, but thin enough to wear most things and look amazingly stunning if that isn't bragging too much. Her skin originally started out pale given that she was born and raised on the British Isle, but after her trips to the Caribbean and other vacations down south, she developed a much needed and much envied tan that literally made her skin grow. But then again, that glow could be due to the skin lotions she uses as all are made from plant products to soften and shine her delicate skin. Though her skin is practically flawless, it just felt so...plain, so she opted for a it of decoration and she got a tattoo in the middle of her lower back, just above her butt and she loves it. To her, it adds sexy to classy.
Coming from one of those Upper Class families in her area, she was brought up learning how to walk proper among other things so naturally, as she walks, her back is as straight as a board, her shin is raised, her eyes lowered and her breasts are pressed outwards to give her that elegant flow and that look of awareness and poise as she moves. Her friends usually joke that if she was wearing some tatter, white sheet she could pass for a ghost. But that posture and necessary poise aid her when her parents entertain in their home as she has to be that perfect little girl, carrying herself well, wearing the perfect dress, a stunning smile on her face with her light-blond hair flowing or pinned up slightly. That's another quality about herself that she favours above all. Her hair. The shampoos, made from animal products of course, makes her hair shine, keeps her hair silky soft and it lightened it to what she could only describe as white blond and she can't tell whether to call it naturally or artificial but for image reasons, let's call t natural.
She used to go to school so for roughly seven hours each day of the week she was in her dreadfully plain uniform but from then till now her style has always been constant. She will do casual when she is outside gardening alone or with her mum, in her home it is strictly formally casually: this included shot jeans, old tops and stuff like that. Things she used to wear that have become a bit on the unsightly side for public wear. In public, she's mostly in a skirt, at times in a pair of short jeans to show off her legs. She'd wear strapless tops or anything slightly off-the-shoulder and at times, when the weather and her mood fits it, she'd wear something to show her belly button...as well as her beautiful tattoo. She is not into the whole trendy thing. Sure she likes to look good, amazing actually, but she's smart and even then she still comes out looking amazing and her peers have to admit that and that's because with a figure like hers and a beauty so natural she is able to pull off most things.
When it comes to accessories, she would wear earrings, chains and simple bracelets but she draws the line at rings. She's never like wearing a ring on her finger as it's too uncomfortable for her but she is willing to make two exceptions: Her engagement ring and her wedding ring, but that's it. The only thing she would every put in her hair are discreet hair pins to keep it in place but that's it, she likes to enjoy the natural look of her hair with it being as unspoilt as possible. Shoes...her weakness. She loves them. The different styles, colours, designs and designers. If she cared less about school and life and more about shoes she'd be working for Kimmy Choo or something like that. Never would she wear something scanty unless she was gardening, of course.IMAGINATIVE. FRIENDLY. WARM

eccentricities;;
She Gardens...a lot. Sometimes as a stress reliever, other times because she simply can. At times, she'd prefer to just sit and garden for hours on end.
When she goes shopping for shoes she can get more than wrapped up in the endeavour. It can get so bad that she would skip lunch to shop right through the day which is honestly ridiculous in her own book.
She creams her skin at least three times before she goes out. That's just because the feeling of the natural cream on her flesh is just so inviting.
She has this bit of fear that no one will like her, want to get to know her or try in the slightest to get to know her and that can get to a person.
Keri Allen is one of the warmest people you will every meet. Her heart is so inviting and she is just as eager to get to know any and everyone regardless of their background and their lineage. Just doesn't matter to her because who you are isn't necessarily always dependent on where you came from but who you want to be and that's how she goes through life, that's why she's so bubbly because all those superficial issues don't affect her in the slightest and she loves that about herself. Sometimes that fact gets her down because she feels that the way she is, how inviting she is throws too many people off and that resulted in her limited number of friends but she's got a mindset strong enough not to let that deter her from keeping her spirits soaring.
She is a very articulate individual and her teachers tend to shower her with praise at that fact. Her articulation, her confidence, her bubbly persona is all due to how she choose to carry herself which is the way she was taught to carry herself and that is with elegance and poise and that usually allows for her to give out an appeal to the opposite sex and as flattered as she is at the frequent attention, the friend issue gets her little unsettled when she tries to think about it too much so you can say that having many, true friends is something of her concern but, of course, she knows that many friends and true friends are two categories which don't always walk hand in hand.
She is a sweet girl. She listens to her parents, she does her school work on time, she manages her time wisely, she never skips class, or school for that matter and she's always true to her friends and family...at times. So she's basically a good girl, and in every story there is a Good Girl and in her life story she was playing that role as well as the leading cast. But then again, all good girls need to have a dark side for balance, and that side is shown when she steps out, dressed provocatively, heading out to clubs, parties and whatever else, just to have fun, but all the while, her good girl nature remains intact and that keeps her away from alcohol and she's adamant not to drink.
Her love for nature, her obsession for gardening and her love for everything in her life has developed a nurturing side to her, a side most don't see till motherhood if they're so lucky or in some cases, if they so wish. Right now, her babies are her plants. They are healthy, beautiful and her pride and joy and she loves them. That's good when you have a big heart, you're capable of loving for whatever reason and she's smart enough and understanding enough and determined enough to love through most if not anything. Hate is something she's not in frequent contact with. She's too warm, too bubbly, to caring and to loving to hate and hold vendettas. She's the time to forgive and forget as it God's request and that's just how she is. Sometimes she won't forget just to prevent another round of hurt, but she will forgive, because that's what's in her heart.

After some agonizing hours of labour. Heather and Damien Allen, a coupled of ten years and going strong, welcomed the birth of their first child who they later named and Keri Christina Allen, a name they had in their heads ever since the ultrasound dictated they were going to have a baby girl, and they did, a bouncing baby girl at that. Her childhood was the happiest. She was always smiling that toothless smile, laughing at the slightest thing and she had this curious look on her face whenever she saw something strange yet interesting, like a lizard for example or any other animal she claimed as a pet. She enjoyed talking with them. They'd bring her stuff and she'd feed them though and the older she got, the larger the animals like the toads in the back yard, the flies that buzzed around her baby food and once she asked a stray dog to come over and play. Well, her mother freaked seeing the large beast like her small, fragile daughter’s face but Keri was sad her mum stopped her from having fun.
The bouncing, bubbling, baby, packed with extra loads of joy grew into a toddler, slightly shorter for her age but that didn't stop her when it came time to start her journeys of discovery. These journeys usually led to and ended in her mothers flower gardens. She had planted so many beautiful, pretty flowers that the desire to pick them was hard to resist. Sure she was scolded after she brought in bouquets of her mothers uprooted flowers, tracking mud in the house as she went but nothing would stop her from going back out the next day to do the same thing. After a while though, she gathered that she wasn't allowed to pick them but she was still compelled to come out and sit on the grass and watch them, taking in how they grew and blossomed beautifully, watching as the honey bees came and went with their collected nectar, watching as the humming birds did the same, completely unaffected and undisturbed by their presences, though, when her mother came to get her to clean up they'd usually clear out in a hurry and being the toddler she was, it was hard not to giggle at that fact but with that aside, she loved coming out into her mother's garden and her mother took notice of that.
When she was around four years of age, her mother took her out into the garden, carrying a steep pale filled with tools. The tools she used to garden. Then it clicked and her eyes shot wide open as her face beamed with glee. She was finally going to help her mum out in the garden. Honestly, she never expressed the desire to as she was quiet content with just hanging out with her floral friends...and the fauna to, but the ability to create more beauty and to watch her creations grow, that made this feeling swell up inside her. She wanted to do this more than anything, more than eating all the chocolate ice cream in the fridge when she was able to reach the door handle. That first time, she handled the spade, making holes where her mother told her, at times making them too big but she was learning after all. Next came the part that thrilled her little mind to the point of giggles. Planting the seeds. Three seeds each to a whole, then she patted the earth down over them. By the time she was done she had dirt all over and thanks to her, so did her mum so it was a good time had by all. Never had she enjoyed a moment outside with her mum like that and the best thing was that every weekend from then on, Sunday Gardening was their mother-daughter tradition.
One Sunday when she was five her mother was out shopping, leaving her to do her chores. Yeah, for a five year old she was somewhat responsible...maybe it was the structure of gardening and the impact it had on her life but whether it was the cause or not, she was a good child, she did as her parents said and did her chores with haste. So it wasn't too much for her mother to ask Keri to do the day's gardening, besides, it was just two species of Hibiscus in a small plot of dirt at the side of the house. That afternoon when the sun was high, dressed in jeans and her mum's old shirt, she went outside with the seeds in her pocket, dragging the steel pale with all the tools. And just like she's done countless times before, she dug the small holes, placed the seeds in and patted the earth over. As she did, she was oblivious to the fact that she was smiling, but that smile was replaced with a gasp when green things started to grow out of the dirt, right beneath her fingers. Her first thought was of worms but when the green things snaked upwards and sprouted leaves...then branches, then flowers. In less than thirty seconds, four Hibiscus plants had grown before her eyes. At first there was shock, but when she went over, touched them and realized that they were real, a bright smile crashed across her face. Well, her chores were done but when her mother came home to inspect her work, she figured that there would be some explaining to do but she came up quickly. Usually, her mum would get some plants delivered by some man with a big white truck, so she lied and told her mother he stopped by with the Hibiscus plants and she even went on to say that she planted them herself and, not to brag, but they grew out nicely for an event so weird but amazing.
That day went by just like any other day. Though she would stare in wonder at the sudden growth of the plant and at the time, she'd feel a bit disheartened as to why it never happened again. So once the interest had been overshadowed by the disappointment, she had forgotten the whole event and went along with her life. That year she entered Primary School. A step she was nervous and at the same time, excited about. It was a whole new world for her and she would be able to see all different kinds of people outside the norm at home, at the grocery store and at the plant nursery. For once she'd be among people her age and that was the exciting part, but sadly it wasn't what she expected. She found it a bit difficult to make friends. Sure she made a few here and there but it seemed like no one wanted to talk to her unless she said something. At first her little, five year old heart was crushed but those few friends she already had got closer to her and all of that was put behind her. She was having fun in Primary School, her mother-daughter days were going good and life was perfect...if you left out the little detail such as her parent's divorce. From then, her life was divided into summers or winters with her dad in his new home in the Caribbean and the rest of the time was spent with her mother in bitterly cold England. And on top of that, her mother, former housewife got a job as a Botanist so that meant the time they would have spent on an evening after school and on Saturdays was completely shot and she couldn't help but blame her dad for becoming suddenly unhappy with the life he once lived and loved.
Sundays were completely not the same for her anymore. Sundays were mum's day for much need rest after a six day week of work so from then on, Sunday Gardening was her own thing from then on and, sadly, the hobby that made her heart sing, her eyes shine and her soul fly had lost it's appeal. Nothing much changed the year after not seven years after. No longer a Primary School student but a Secondary School student with the same issue with making friends like at her old school, her life was pretty much what would be expected of the normal teenage girl. Boys, shopping, shoes, image and intelligence. That summed it up for her interests, though she was having some issues in the boy department and as much as her friend wanted to help set her up, she wanted to do it on her own and she honestly wasn't doing a very good job of it and it didn’t get better that whole year but when summer came she was happy for the escape from her world. That year she was switching her Christmas Vacation in Antigua with her dad to spend the summer there instead. She needed a much needed tan because it just seemed to rain and rain everyday on that isle and that was completely figuratively speaking.
That summer was supposed to be great, She'd get a tan, meet a cute guy that her friends won't know or pressure her about and she'd chill with her dad...as lame as that was. But on a whole, everything just wasn't going how she wanted. His dad put her up at a hotel, she didn't question why, it was raining on and off so she was mostly walking about the hotel and when the sun was shining, it was too blistering hot for her liking. She felt as she she'd moved passed tanned to deep fried that day she decided to brave it and sun tan. But after thirty minutes she couldn't take it. She packed up her stuff and dragged the lounge chair back up to the hotel. That was just to freaky and a memory shot into her head, one of when she was five. The Hibiscus. Her jaw dropped again but rather than touch to see if it was real, which is what everyone else was doing, she turned and ran back to her hotel room. That night on the evening news, that little event was broadcasted...and she was right in the middle of it...wearing her scanty bikini so it wouldn't haven't been a shocker when she got a call, her father's caller ID coming up.
Life went on in its constant spiral of normalcy. She moved from second year, to her third year to her fourth year, blossoming into a taller, much more developed, beautiful girl with boys finally paying her attention but she wasn't as interested as before. Her school years were coming to an end soon so she was just going to focus on getting into a good college and using up what time she had left with her closest friends and that usually meant chilling out by The Tree as she and her friends termed it. One afternoon at lunch break, Keri and her friends were spending the hour lounging on a bench by one of the trees in the school court. Keri herself was lying on the cut, green grass, looking up at the the brown to gold to red leaves on the tree, picturing those movies where the leaves would spontaneously fall and to her hearts surprise and delight, the leaves on the tree above her and her friends started to fall, all drifting around them till they coated the earth with a layer of dead but beautifully colour leaves; and what was even more bizarre is that the same thing happened to two other trees, and to take a dip into the chronicles of puzzling, the trees grew back their leaves which turned from green to brown within one to two minutes, leaves which then fell. This process happened thirty times...she counted each from her classroom window fifteen minutes after class started.
As much as she wanted to focus on that "odd" occurrence, she was to preoccupied with her father's sudden appearance. His visit wasn't so much happy as it was heart-breaking...for everyone. He came for custody. That following weekend was one filled with screaming, and crying and she couldn't stay in that house. She didn't feel like going over to one of her friends so she went to the next best place. Her mother's garden which was practically hers now since her mother was nowhere to be seen on Sundays. She went on and sat on the same patch of grass she used to...then the oddest thing happened, that puppy, that stray puppy from years ago snuck into the house and same trotting up to her. She was tempting to move but one look into its eyes and she was welcoming it into her arms. It rested it’s head on her lap and she laid back, her white blond hair spread on the grass, her hand stroking his back. She remained like this for over an hour, that whole time her parents were fighting, and she hoped it would end soon. Fifteen minutes later, Greg, as she had named him, whimpered then ran off. Seconds later his dad stormed out the house, leaving without a glance or a good bye. Following was mum who watched as her dad drove away before coming over to her, just to hold her, but it felt like she was the one who needed the support, so she gave her mum what she needed. Seems like she was grown beyond her years.
Things didn't get much better after that. Her dad got a lawyer and fought in court for custody and she refused to go, she refused to give her say because she was not about to give up her life because of the selfishness of her parents...and besides, which side of the court would she sit without looking as if she favoured one side over the other. She just couldn't deal with that. What she could deal with is the months that followed after mum remained full guardian. Her mother spent every moment at her work. Got up early...too early, came home well passed midnight and Keri coped. She did the chores...she paid the bills for her mother, she took the bus to school instead...and she kept the garden alive and beautiful. That Garden was the only thing that kept her sane, the only thing that managed to keep her smiling in all this misery.
The year that followed was in a lighter mood. She certainly was seeing a lot of her mum and her vacations with her dad were back on and life was getting cheery again, so cheery that when her aunt invited her, her mum and even her dad to the States for Christmas everyone accepted wholeheartedly. Like every year it was snowing. Sure it snowed in England but here in the States, a place she ventured to for the first time and given the very beautiful wide open home her aunt and uncle and cousins lived in, the slow on the ground, on the trees...everything was just so much more beautiful for some odd reason. Luckily, she regained consciousness thanks to whoever it was that startled her in the first place.
The shock of it was something fierce but when the local law enforcement and some lower layers of the government started poking around Keri and her family stayed clear, saying nothing at all about it because no one liked to be in that kind of situation. So after the holiday flew by, Keri and her mum headed back to gloomy old England, getting home in time just for school to start. She thought she had blossomed before but now, her body had an explosion and her hair shone like never before, not to mention her skin. This created a sudden burst in confidence which lead to her stepped out from her quiet scene to hitting hot clubs and parties across the isle and once in Ireland but that didn't make her less of who she was, but it made her more responsible and outgoing and she was enjoying life again but that still wasn't enough to attract a man. Sure she was hit on but she wasn't interested in posers and stuff...maybe it was her inability to attract the right guy...or maybe it was her. Maybe she didn't have that much of a physical explosion like she thought and that got to her at times because there were certainly many others who had bigger and better assets than herself but no doubt her spirit was brighter. It was like, when the day depressed her, during the evening she'd find something that'd make her smile...then everything would just get brighter, and brighter and brighter. So when she got rejected as she did...countless times, she got back up, dusted herself off and hit the clubs at night, sometimes alone, mostly with friends and she'd just dance herself alive.
With that kind of attitude programmed into her. Her home life was once again quiet and peaceful...school was going cool and she was finally a senior, spending her last year in Secondary School and she was 16 which meant that she was finally able to get herself a car and road trip before college but while studying under The Tree one afternoon, she felt something click in her mind. That day was the turning point, the day of realization. She looked away, skeptical at that she was thinking, more so at what she was trying to do, then she threw caution to the wind and wished. Nothing happened, at first...then the lose earth started to mound then fall to the sides as seedlings grew, turning into plants which seemed to over-run half the yard. Two things went into her, awe at what she did and shock at what she did.
Her first year at college was completely distracted wit her practicing her...gift and she wa sloving it immensely, so much that her room was floral to her roomates delight, she always carried a flower with her to match her outfit and she had no more need for perfumes and lotions and shampoos because she was capable of making it on her own thanks to a few online recipes. This went quickly out of hand though. Sometimes her growths got too far out of control and to make matter worse, once, someone caught her growing a tulip. She panicked. She didn't go back to classes, she didn't go back to her dorm for hear of being confronted...she went back home to her mother. She wasn't scared as in on the verge of tears, she was scared of being feared, of being seen as a freak, note, she has watched Smallville. She was no different than those meteor freaks. her mother, who thankfully, kept a level head with all of this called in a few favours and this led to Sententia Academy and a Dr. Reid Sullivan who headed the Academy.
In a month she was settled at the huge, huge Academy, the unfortunate part was that it was in the US and she was really fond of the place but she was at least close to some relatives who were just a plane away and it made. Her life seriously changed. Her shocked father stopped the yearly vacations...she didn't get to see her mother much and her garden was a sea away and she was alone and it seemed like she had the same issues following her. Limited Friends. No Boyfriend...but at least she had something she loved with her and in no time, she claimed a small part of the Academy and created a small garden, getting a bit that was just for her, always had been right up until she was old enough to live on her own but going home wasn't really a thing on her list and the garden she created was so evry beautiful. So she stayed. Opted for a teaching position and this is where she's at now. Living at Sententia, helping students with her gift.

…the minute the bell rang he pushed his Physics books into his back pack and headed out the classroom door while eh professor made his futile attempt to call out the day’s homework. The chances of him actually doing it were pretty slim but today he was feeling generous…generous and excited because he was going to take his little secret a huge step up. That night he was planning on going to this old abandoned place with loads of cars stacked up on each other. He was going to try and left a chassis or two and see if he could manage it without getting a nose bleed, the last time he unintentionally lifted his dad’s car he got a nose bleed, then than again, that was because he passed out and fell on his nose, gladly, it wasn’t broken too severely and it healed up nicely. Luckily. When he got home he kept out of his parents way, thought it was hard not to notice their stares, and he did his chores, and he actually did Mr. Spencer’s homework, just to pass to time and more surprising, he did the rest of his homework so don’t be surprised that he had a migraine afterward. Strange, to be something so extraordinary and all he could think about was getting migraines from doing a bunch of useless school work…that’s just him. Had to be.
Nightfall came, but rather than take the risk opportunity to sneak out he decided on a cover. See, that’s how smart he is for a guy who paid no attention in school. He went up in his room after another silent dinner, started playing video game after video game, then he showered, went back to his room, closed and locked the door and that was it. Basically, that was his silent routine after school, has been for the passed ten years now and he’s rather comfortable with it. Not like there were any other options to consider. This was his life, has been and unfortunately it will always be that way. The sad but comfortable truth.
Lying in bed till midnight hit, he sprung up when his parent’s bedroom light went out and out the window he went, landing in a nice crouch on the driveway below his window before he took off. It wasn’t hard to find the old place, the cars stacked everywhere made it an easy beacon of sorts and the fact that it was abandoned made it all the easier, it meant that no one would catch him doing what his parents forbade him from doing. He didn’t get that. As he walked about the dark, abandoned dump site, he couldn’t help but wonder why his parents didn’t want him to get better at this gift of his. A gift his mother called a curse that ruined their lives. She’d never say that to his face but he overheard her saying that to his dad. They hated that he could do these things, but hating it meant hating him because it was apart of him…and deep down, he couldn’t help but wonder if they hated him, if they wished he’d never been born. He halted when that assumption sunk in…and he couldn’t help that feeling that said that he was right…they didn’t want him knowing that he was defective or something like that.
Right then, millions of thoughts raced into his mind. Head home and pretend he was normal, run away and life his life…or end his life right now, make it so his body was never found so his parents won’t have to look at him even when he was dead…wow…heavy stuff. Too bad it wasn’t heavy enough to deter him from what he wanted to do; he wanted to get better at it. Giving the area one last sweep, he set his eyes on his victim. The chassis of some old Ford model. Pushing his hands into his pockets, he breathed a sigh, closed his eyes and focussed. His aim was to lift it a few feet into the air and hold it firmly, then another, and another till he reached his limiting point. His eyes flickered open and locked on the Ford. Slowly, he could feel his mind stretching toward the car’s framework, wrapping around it until he and it were one in the same, bonded together, kinda like a cell as its cytoplasm was separating. He breathed another sigh, squeezed his eyes shut tightly then he put his mind to work. The thought to lift it into the air emitted from him like a transmission to the chassis…and it started to vibrate…
