power history;;Ian has always had his powers, though he didn't actually know he was special. Knowledge of his power's existence was something he only found when he was 14. After the incident that killed his sister he was in a coma for a full year before his powers were explained and he was sent to Sententia, a year behind in classes.
Ian spent his first year at Sententia Academy under constant surveillance. The staff wanted to be sure he wouldn't go into another stress-induced coma. He has yet to reach that point again and he seems to be handling his powers fine now, though he has gained a lot of control since that first year.

If he smiled a little more he might be even more attractive, but happiness is something he doesn't easily find anymore.
Ian has a scar on his leg where the bone broke through in the accident that killed his sister and a cross shaped tattoo on the upper right side of his chest. Both of these tend to be covered by an ensemble typically consisting of either a t-shirt or a long sleeved button down and a pair of jeans. Sometimes he'll also wear a jacket on the top.
Ian isn't much for jewelry. Occasionally he'll wear a necklace, but usually nothing more than that.ROMANCE, MYSTERY, TRAGEDY.

[/li][li] His own death
[/li][li] Having another stress induced coma, considering what it took to cause the last one.
[/li][li] That he might end up hurting everyone close to him.[/li][/ul]
eccentricities;; He hardly ever smiles. He has nightmares about the accident/tries not to sleep/becomes an insomniac starting around Christmas and lasting until just after New Years
Ian is a romantic. He sees and appreciates the true beauty of the world around him, something that started after waking up from his coma. He feels like he has to appreciate life for himself and for Tracy, since she will never see more of the world than she did between her birth and her death at age 13. This is why he picked up photography as a hobby, and though he is still new he took several classes and has become rather good at it.
Ian can be seen as dark and brooding. It's the sadness of his life that makes him this way. He often dreams that this life isn't real, that maybe he's still in his coma and having some sort of dream. Part of this is that he has always had issues with accepting that Tracy is dead. He blames himself even though there's no real way to see who was at fault for the accident. He doesn't like red and white as a color combination because it makes him see visions of himself and Tracy lying in the snow, bleeding and, in Tracy's case, dying.
Ian is rather mysterious in his thoughts and actions. Though he doesn't believe in happy endings, since he doesn't see what his sister got as being a happy ending, he sometimes dreams that he will find his own happy ending. Though he has a cross tattoo on his chest he no longer believes in God or in anything dictating the fate of his life. God doesn't exist, or if he does he isn't as loving as it's said because no loving god would have taken Tracy's life when it was. If there is such thing as fate, then it sucks because Tracy deserved more than she got.

Ian was born on November 13, 2002 to Prue and Chris Hart. He was their first child, though a year later his sister Tracy was born. Tracy and Ian grew up being pretty much as close as a set of twins. Their lives began and for a long time continued in a small town in Northern Minnesota. Their family was middle class, faithfully Christian, and a loving environment in which the two kids could grow up.
Ian always had his powers, though much weaker than they are now at the start. People always thought he was just observant rather than magically empathic and his soothing voice was attributed to his logic making sense. He and Tracy were wild, adventurous, and rebellious kids who got away with a lot of what they did because his voice was his strongest trait at the time. This is probably what got them into the situation that cost Tracy her life.
For Christmas one year when, Ian was 14 and Tracy was 13, they tried to convince their parents to get them a snowmobile, even just one the two of them could share. The month before Ian had succeeded in convincing them to let him get the cross shaped tattoo he has on his chest. Eventually, as usual, Ian's voice won out. Christmas day there was a card from their parents reading, "Look in the garage." In the garage waited a snowmobile and two helmets.
For a month things were fine. Then one day the two took the snowmobile out and everything went wrong. Ian always wonders how things might have been changed. Maybe if he hadn't pointed out the deer his sister, who was driving, would have seen the downed tree in time. Maybe if he'd been driving they wouldn't have been going so fast - Tracy was a little more of a speed demon than him. Whatever the source of the problem was they hit a downed tree and the snowmobile went flying. Ian broke his leg when they crashed down, the bone breaking through the skin. Tracy ended up under the snowmobile with a lot more damage and internal bleeding. Ian's panic and pain sent his powers spiraling out of control and he went into his first and only stress induced coma.
He woke up a year later. They'd been found because they're parents had called the cops as soon as the siblings had missed their curfew. It had been too late for Tracey though. She'd died at the hospital. At first they'd thought they'd lose Ian too, but he came back, much to his dislike. His powers were discovered shortly thereafter as the source of his coma and he was sent to Sententia for his freshman year at age 15.

As my character Sara on Animorphs: The Aftermath
Sara gave a weak laugh as Tim asked if she was okay. Well, so much for hiding it. I could just call it my morning face, but if I wear it all day the lie will be obvious. "Not really, but it's nothing that won't be better once today is over," she said. It was the truth, just not the whole truth. He might ask, but that didn't mean she had to tell him.
She got herself a bowl of cereal, a fairly easy breakfast and nothing fancy or out of the ordinary. That's what she wanted today to be, just another day. She knew it wasn't, but she didn't have to treat it like the special event it was. As she put the milk in the fridge she thought back to memories of their birthdays before. Whichever twin woke up first would always run into the room of the other twin, waking them up to excited shouts of happy birthday. They'd go down to the dining room together where anyone in the room would always say happy birthday to them. That night they'd do cake and presents with a possibility of there being friends or relatives at the house besides just their immediate family. She even remembered one year where they'd made Matt wait two minutes after she'd blown the her candles on the cake out so that he could blow his candles out. He'd been thoroughly pissed, though he could laugh looking back on that memory now too.
She sighed as she shut the fridge. This birthday was nothing like that. There was no Matthew to wake up excitedly. There was no family to celebrate with, probably no cake or presents because she'd told no one yet, and all the joy she usually felt seemed to be missing in her wishing he was here.
She picked up the bowl of cereal and started eating it, no longer trying to hide her lack of enthusiasm.
