A whisper in the darkness//Aimee

[Josh Beeper]

Josh stood there stunned by what Aimee had just said. She was thinking about him? But why? He had to admit he had thought about her at first...but he saw her as a girl that just wanted attention. A girl that would be fake in the end. And he wasn’t about to get caught up in all of that. Josh was usually pretty good at reading people. First impressions meant a lot to him.

Josh couldn’t help but feel bad for her. She lost someone and that had to hurt. He put his arm around her shoulders as they kept walking. “Yeah I was thinking about a couple girls. Always am.” he admitted. Josh was the type of person where once you were his friend you would always be in his heart and on his mind. “First off Felicity. I have liked her for months and months now.” he thought back to the dance, the kiss they had shared. “Then you, I think your cute and all...guess.” he said ‘guess’ just being a joke.”And then some of my closest friends. True, Misha, Ashlyn....mostly True she is my best friend after all. But them three are always on my mind...well and felicity...never mind I guess me thinking about this is nothing new.” he said laughing.

In all honesty Josh liked leading girls on and not dating them. He had always been this way and had kissed more then one girl and ended up not dating her. He didn’t get why he was like this but he had always been. He figured this was no different. He liked her and all but she was just so not his type. “It’s fine really.” he said smiling at her.

[Aimee Hathaway]

Aimee watched as Josh's expression turned to shock. It seemed like he didn't think she was like this, like she wasn't really there or real. It seemed like he thought she might have been different and she had surprised him by what she had said. Aimee thought about how Josh was probably taking everything she had just said. Inside, she wondered if he really thought she was okay or if he thought about her as a friend even. Aimee hoped he would and was a little shocked when he put his arm around her. He seemed to not do this in a flirty type of a way, but in a more comfort part. It was nice to know that he at least seemed to understand and maybe wanted to be there for her.


Aimee listened as Josh talked about how he was constantly thinking about girls. It seemed normal to Aimee, guys always thought about girls and girls always thought about guys. It was just how things were. He kept on talking and said that there was this one girl named Felicity who he has liked for months and months and then continued to say he thought she was cute and all, but said guess after it. Just to make it joking and it did bring a smile to Aimee's face. As he went on he mentioned some of his closest friends: True, Misha, Ashlyn, and of course Felicity. Who were constantly on his mind as well. Aimee inwardly thought about this and laughed when she realized that probably most of his friends might be girls, but she was cool with that. She didn't laugh out loud though, she didn't want to interrupt Josh.



At the end of Josh's conversation he said that him thinking about all of that was probably nothing new. "Wow, it sounds like your mind is always busy huh?" Aimee said smiling up a tJosh. He seemed really happy with all the friends he had and Aimee hoped in the back of her mind that maybe one day she could be as close to Josh as everyone else is. Aimee couldn't help think there seemed to be something funny about Josh though, it seemed like he likes Felicity, but doesn't want to settle down into a relationship with her. "So, are you going to ask out Felicity." Aimee said lightly pushing his shoulder and said all of this in a little taunting manner, playfully really. Josh started to seem kind of like a player, but he was so nice.



Aimee could tell that he was always around girls, but that didn't mean he was a player and he was really nice and kind. Yes, he was very cute and wouldn't have trouble finding a girlfriend, but he just seems like he doesn't want to settle down with one of them. Aimee decided to shrug all of this off, because she figured she was just having another over thinking it moment again. After a moment Josh had replied to her apology by saying it was fine. "I'm glad." Aimee said returning his smile with one of hers. Aimee was fine if he didn't like her or if they weren't going to date, but she still wanted to be friends and would do her best to keep things that way.

Josh still felt a little something for Aimee, but that was fine with him. He smiled as he knew she had listened to him. It was true his mind was always busy. As she mentioned Felicity his mind took another turn. He liked her a lot but Josh was very shy, he had always been this way and probably always would be. He was usually lost for words and silent. He only liked to talk to people he was close to, or at least comfortable with.

He really liked her and felt things for Felicity he had never felt before. It was almost impossible to explain, he was scared that she would hurt him in the end, even though he really wanted to be with her. "I'm not sure." he said quietly sounding rather innocent. "I'm waiting for the right time to ask her...I think she likes me...well I mean she kissed me so I think she does, but I'm not sure." he said glancing down at the ground. He liked her a lot but didn't know what to say to her to know if he should ask or not. He wanted to hang out with her, maybe someplace romantic, but she was always so busy with the paper. Plus he didn't really know where to take her.

[Aimee Hathaway]

Aimee walked with Josh back down the path they had come and she realized it was probably getting really late. She also had over a million pounds of essays and projects due. She shouldn't have been out here for this long, but she was. Strangely, she didn't regret being out here at all. After all, Josh was the one who had helped her calm down over the whole Addison situation. Sure, at first she did kind of want more than friendship, but as time went on she realized that there was another girl and Aimee would settle for friendship or maybe just friends who flirt. Who knows, but Aimee would find out.



Aimee could tell that Josh seemed to really like Felicity and wondered in the back of her mind if she was compromising their relationship while being here with him. She didn't mean to start something else or flirt with Josh. Hopefully I'm just overthinking things, again." Aimee thought to herself as Josh then started to talk about how he didn't know if he would ask out Felicity. He said that he was waiting for the right time to aske her and she thought that she liked him, but he didn't know. He also mentioned how she had kissed him and this made him think she liked him. All of this definetly was shocking and Aimee thought carefully before answering. " Well, it seems like she does have some feelings for you. I mean, I don't think she would just kiss anyone." Aimee said looking up at Josh with a smile. She didn't want him to lose the chance of dating Felicity. "Are you sure you like her?" Aimee said watching his expression carefully as he answered. "If you do like her, I think you should ask her out as soon as you see any sign that shows she has an interest towards you."
